Las Galeras boasts nine area beaches including Playa Fronton, La Playita, Playa Rincon and Playa Madama. Rock climbing and camping are popular in Playa Fronton. La Playita, a short walk from the Casa Dorado, has one of the best snorkeling reefs in the area.
Casa Dorado can arrange a day hike to Playa Rincón for Casa Dorado guests. The hike takes 1.5 hours and has majestic views. Upon arrival in Playa Rincón, you can order delicious fish and seafood lunches. You may hike back to Casa Dorado or arrange a return by boat.
Fishing and snorkeling excursions and boat rides to Playa Frontón and Playa Rincón are available throughout the year. Whale Watching is possible from mid-January until mid-March. This amazing experience is not to be missed. Presently, it is usd$60 for a whale watching excursion with Dario, including a trip to Playa Frontón and lunch.

Fish meals during the day, we recommend both restaurants in La PLayita.
In addition, the best seafood restaurant is Rubi’s in Hotel Rincon Rubi on the way to Playa Rincon It is in google map and it is at the top of the view where you have the best view before you descend to the beach.
La Bodeguita is located on the main cross street very close to the main beach. It has a nice variety of meat and arroz chaufa and chop suey.
Restaurante Le BDM has galletes and crepes, good meat and a good bar. It is on a side street near the bank and it is on google map.
Langostino de Oro has pizza, carne y mariscos. It is located on the calle principal going toward the main beach.

There are 2 good bakeries in Las Galeras. For pastries or a light lunch, we recommend Aux Delices de France right on the main street of Las Galeras.
